MANILA – Jodi Sta. Maria, clad in a long white gown, walked the red carpet at the 44th Annual International Emmy Awards on Monday night at the Hilton New York Hotel.
Styled by Patricia Coronado, the Kapamilya actress is wearing a creation of fashion designer Mark Bumgarner.
Sta. Maria is gracing the event as one of the nominees for Best Performance by an Actress for her portrayal of Amor Powers in ABS-CBN's 2015 television hit "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
In a previous interview, Sta. Maria said her red carpet gown was inspired by her character in the primetime drama.
"Hindi naman everyday na nakakatisod tayo ng isang nomination from the Emmys," she admitted. "Maganda naman na maipresenta natin ng maayos ang sarili natin at siyempre pupunta ako doon na hindi lang naman sarili ko ang nire-represent ko, pati ang Philippines din."
Sta. Maria will be competing against the U.K.'s Judi Dench ("Roald Dahl's Esio Trot"), Brazil's Grazi Massafera ("Verdades Secretas") and Germany's Christiane Paul ("Unterm Radar").
Meanwhile, "Bridges of Love," which starred Jericho Rosales, Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador, was nominated in the Telenovela category, alongside entries from Canada and Brazil.
