MANILA – All-Filipina girl group 4th Impact survived Saturday night’s elimination (Sunday morning in Manila) after bringing the house down with their rendition of a Christina Aguilera song during the 4th live show of “The X Factor UK.”

Mason Noise was sent home after garnering the lowest number of votes.

For the love and heartbreak-themed week, the Filipina sisters decided to perform “Ain’t No Other Man” which earned them a standing ovation form their mentor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

However, Simon Cowell wasn’t too keen about it. Although he thought the number was “brilliant and professional,” the judge said he has yet to see the individual personalities of the Filipina sisters.

“It is so tight as the four of you and I want to get to know you as individuals. I really like you, but to go to the next level, we have to know who you are. Apart from that it was great,” he said.

Nick Grimshaw, meanwhile, said what he saw was “proper entertainment from beginning to end.”

“Sometimes you’re so sweet, it is like candy floss and it’s a bit sweet and fluffy and airy. Tonight it was meaty and a bit nasty,” he said.

Rita Ora, for her part, lauded the girls for showing off a well-rehearsed number.

“It was tight, professional, and rehearsed. Cheryl and I know how hard it is to dance and sing at the same time, but I liked it,” she said.

But Versini was quick to correct Ora, saying the group’s number wasn’t rehearsed as they only got their song one day before the live show.

“That wasn’t rehearsed and they only got it yesterday. I think because they are so professional and tight, it is really easy to overlook the fact they’ve come from halfway around the world, from the Philippines, they’re missing home, their families. I have so much respect for you getting up there every week,” said Versini.

On Sunday (Monday in Manila), another elimination will be held and the Top 6 contestants will be cut to five.
