MANILA -- "Anak" hitmaker Freddie Aguilar and his 16-year-old girlfriend were married in Islamic rites on Friday afternoon at a restaurant in Buluan, Maguindanao.
ABS-CBN News Central Mindanao obtained photos of the private gathering, where 60-year-old Aguilar and his partner performed rituals in traditional Muslim weddings.
Aguilar, whose Muslim name is Abdul Farid, converted to Islam about six months ago, according to one of the wedding's principal sponsors, Maguindanao Governor Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu.
