MANILA – Joseph Marco still feels overwhelmed when people call him by the name of his character in the series “Pure Love.”
In an exclusive interview with entertainment site Push, Marco said this suggests the big impact the show had on viewers.
“Of coursem masaya siya na malungkot kasi masaya to the point na hindi namin ine-expect na ganito kami tatanggapin ng mga tao na grabe, sobrang naging successful 'yung show. Like kapag lumalabas ako ang daming nakakakilala sa akin na tumatawag sa akin by my character na Sir Dave, alam mo 'yun. Lahat ng paghihirap namin. it is so worth it kasi ang dami din naming napapaligayang tao,” he said.
But at the same time, Marco said it also makes him sad that he and the other cast members of “Pure Love” won’t get to see each other regularly anymore.
Asked if he is likewise sad that he will no longer see Alex Gonzaga as often, Marco said: “Well, right now parang naging close na kami ni Alex. Sobrang saya niya lang kasi kausap, I am really fond of her and I find her, habang tumatagal, I really find her cute.”
When asked if he plans to pursue Gonzaga in the future, Marco only said he does not want to rush anything.
“I think same kami. Hindi dapat minamadali ang love and parang in God’s time darating yun,” he said. “Sabi ko nga I respect Alex so much and she is the type of girl na dapat respetuhin kaya naman if I am going to pursue something I want to make sure ako sa nararamdaman ko. Right now, hindi naman kailangang madaliin, we can wait.”
As of now, Marco said he will just focus on his career.
“I am very overwhelmed and really, really thankful and blessed. I never stopped thanking God and everyone sa lahat ng nagbibigay sa akin which I am really, really grateful. Every time, everyday, lalo akong ginaganahan magtrabaho,” he said.
After “Pure Love,” Marco will be starring in another television series remake, “Pasion De Amor,” where he will be paired with Coleen Garcia.
“Kailangan maging careful kahit na may boyfriend o walang boyfriend. Parang ang sa amin lang, ma-deliver lang naming yung chemistry naming kahit na may boyfriend siya,” he said of Garcia, referring to the actress’ relationship with "It's Showtime" host Billy Crawford.
