MANILA - Vice Ganda is back on 'It's Showtime.'
The host-comedian returned on Saturday after taking a temporary leave from the noontime program, citing health reasons. At the time, he stressed that this is not due to any problems with his co-workers or the management, contrary to rumors.
"Sobra ko kayong na-miss lahat, mga kapatid ko sa 'It's Showtime,' mga madlang people," he said shortly after his opening production. Vice Ganda performed the pop hit "Bang Bang" --a joint single from Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj.
"Nakakainggit pag nanunuod ako sa inyo. Maraming salamat talaga at pinayagan ninyo akong makapagpahinga ng sandali," he added.
For their part, his co-hosts welcomed him back. Billy Crawford said: "Isa sa atin ang mawala, 'yung parang pilay kami, pilay 'yung lamesa. Hindi kami makatayo ng maayos....It's definitely a pleasure to have you back here again."
To which Vice Ganda replied: "Alam niyo napatunayan ko nung wala ako, itong 'It's Showtime,' mabubuhay ito ng wala ako. Pero na-realize ko na hindi pala ako mabubuhay ng wala ang 'It's Showtime."
"Mawala man ako dito, malulungkot kayo pero mabubuhay itong show na 'to. Mas lalong kong na-appreciate ang programa," he said.
However, the comedian explained that he will be taking a short leave on January to undergo an operation to remove a polyp in his throat. A polyp is a fluid-filled collection that forms when a vocal cord is not rested enough.
"Kailangan ko po magpaopera sa January. Mawawala po ulit ako pero sandaling sandali lang kasi hindi naman puwede magtagal. Mas ikamamatay ko ang pagkawala dito kaysa sa polyp sa lalamunan ko," he said.
