MANILA - Actress Desiree del Valle is back on television with ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Flordeliza" with love team Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal.
In an interview with ABS-CBNNews.com on Wednesday, del Valle, who is known for playing kontrabida roles, admitted that playing a kind character for a change would be a challenge for her.
In the series, del Valle plays Beth, the wife of Crisanto (Agustin) and the mother of Liza (Rhed Bustamante).
"Sanay nga akong mag-kontrabida so ang challenge this time I have to make people believe. Kasi kawawa ang role ko dito, mabait talaga ako and I am a very loving wife and a loving mother. Breadwinner ako ng family, 'yung tipong lahat-lahat ay gagawin para sa pamilya, para mabuo sila, para maging masaya sila," she said.
Del Valle considers it a "privilege" to be given that kind of role.
"I'm still actually overwhelmed. Magandang role po talaga ang naibigay sa akin and it's different from what I've been doing before. At least now mabibigyan ako ng chance na maipakita ko ang ibang side ko naman as an actress," she explained.
"Sabi nga nila na panahon daw nang-'Tabing Ilog' (stars) kaya nakakatuwa na nandito ako nabigyan ng chance and opportunity and I'm just grateful," she added.
Aside from playing a different role, del Valle is also happy to work with "Gimik" stars Agustin and Magdangal.
"Yung sinasabi nilang ilang years na silang wala sa ABS-CBN parang when we first started working together parang it didn't feel that long, parang it's all natural. Ako nag-start ako noon ay nakikita ko na sila at nakatrabaho ko na sila parang welcome home, happy family," del Valle said.
"Flordeliza," which is directed by Wenn Deramas, will air on ABS-CBN soon.
