MANILA, Philippines — Kris Aquino called the last-minute cancellation of her highly promoted interview with President Rodrigo Duterte an "epic snub."

"Humble and realistic enough to admit it was an epic snub," Aquino wrote on her Instagram account the day after her one-on-one interview with Duterte didn't push through because the president had a migraine.

On Saturday, Aquino posted on Instagram an article showing netizens praising her decision to push through with her hosting duties despite the president's no-show.

According to Malacañang, Duterte's migraine was nothing serious, but just an effect of his jampacked schedule.

"The long hours and endless trips must be taking their toll on the president. Like any human being, the president needs to take a rest," said Communications Secretary Martin Andanar in a text message.

Despite the headache, Duterte attended the launch of Pilipinong May Puso Foundation hours later at a hotel in the same city.
