MANILA—For the past month, Lea Salonga would spend a good number of her days coaching her team on "The Voice Kids," and weekends cheering them on during the live shows.
But this weekend, and for the next few, since "The Voice Kids" ended already anyway, the Broadway star is trading in her coaches' shoes for her performer ones as she takes the stage once again for a series of concerts in Australia.
She begins the three-week tour in Brisbane before heading out for a couple of shows at the Sydney Opera House, one of which has already sold out. She performs there once on Friday, Nov. 15 and twice on Saturday, Nov. 16.
She then wraps the tour with performances at Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Nov. 20 and 21.
In her newspaper column, Salonga wrote: "It's always great fun heading to Australia, so if you happen to be around, please come for the stories and the music. We’ll be glad to have you."
In the shows, Salonga is accompanied by an orchestra under the baton of her brother, Gerard Salonga. She is expected to perform some of her Broadway hits and movie greats, including songs from "Les Misérables," "Miss Saigon," and "Aladdin."
