MANILA – The boyfriend of Jasmine Curtis-Smith has no problem that the actress is playing a lesbian in her upcoming independent film “Baka Bukas.”
The movie is an entry to this year’s Cinema One Originals under the direction of Samantha Lee.
Speaking on “Magandang Buhay” on Wednesday, Jeff Ortega said he is not the type of boyfriend who meddles with Curtis-Smith’s work as an actress.
“Si Jas naman, she always craves for challenging roles. She knows that it makes her better so ako, support lang ako. Girl naman [ang partner niya doon], hindi naman boy,” he said.
According to the couple, who officially became together early this year, both of them are the jealous type.
“Pero open kami sa isa’t isa. Pero pagdating sa lambing, mas malambing siya than me,” Curits-Smith said.
As for Ortega, he said: “Tina-trust ko naman siya. The thing is kapag honest ka sa relationship niyong dalawa, you have nothing to worry about. I think we are there.”
In the same interview, Ortega shared that he and Curtis-Smith have known each other for quite a while now but it was only last year that he had the opportunity to get to know her more.
With her family’s approval of their relationship, Curtis-Smith said: “It feels so right na this is happening. I don’t feel guilty. I don’t feel na there’s room for any drastic changes. Happy ka lang at steady. I’m blessed.”
