MANILA -- Host-actress Kris Aquino, who is also the youngest sister of President Benigno Aquino III, will be the country's de facto first lady during the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
On her morning show "Kris TV," Aquino said she will be attending to the first ladies who will be visiting the country next week.
The Philippines is expecting all the leaders of the 21 member- economies of APEC, including US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin, to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting from November 18 to 19.
"Tinatrabaho namin 'yung 19 na lunch para doon sa mga first ladies, 10 lang 'yung nag-confirm," Aquino said on Monday.
"Ang mga first ladies na confirmed na darating -- Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, tapos Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Colombia. Type ng mga Pinoy ang Colombia na 'yan," she added.
Meanwhile, Aquino also appealed to Filipinos to be at their best during the international event.
"Karangalan natin ito na pupunta sila lahat dito. So mag-behave tayong lahat please," she said.
She also reminded viewers of the no-fly zone at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
