MANILA -- A young man who serenades people for a living sang his way for a spot on Team Sarah "The Voice of the Philippines."
Jason James Dy, 24, from Butuan City, works as a singer for a company that offers serenading services, which he likes to a singing telegram.
On the show's episode on Saturday, Dy performed Sam Smith's "Stay with Me," which turned three chairs for him.
Apl.de.ap, Sarah Geronimo and Lea Salonga did not hesistate in showing their appreciation for Dy, gathering together and hugging each other while Dy was singing.
Only Bamboo did not turn for Dy.
"That was a great performance, Jason. Ako, it was joy enough na umikot silang tatlo," Bamboo explained.
"Oh my God, when you hit those falsettos, it was over. You just took over the competition," Apl.de.ap said.
"Noong nakatalikod pa, sabi ko, 'Oh my God, Sam Smith.' He's like one of my new favorite singers. I thought I was going to have a heart attack in my chair," Salonga said.
Dy chose to be part of Team Sarah, joining Kokoi Baldo, Daniel Ombao, Demie Fresco, Vanessa Monot and Monique Lualhati.
