SINGAPORE – Janella Salvador sang the theme song of “Moana” along with four other Southeast Asian artists during the press conference of the Disney animated film in Singapore on Tuesday.
This after Disney tapped the Kapamilya actress to record her version of the song for the upcoming Philippine release of the movie this month.
The song, “How Far I’ll Go,” is an original composition of Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“Moana” is slated to open in Philippine theaters on November 30.
This is not the first time Disney has tapped Salvador to perform. Last year, Salvador was chosen to sing "Happily Ever After" to represent the Filipino community during the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland.
Here's the original version of "How Far I'll Go" as recorded by Alessia Cara.
