The 1974 movie, following the chilling story of a pair of sisters whose quarrel over a man ultimately ends in one of them committing suicide, became a cult favorite during its time.

The remake stars Nathalie Hart, JC de Vera, Marielle de Leon, and child actress Xia Rigor. It is directed by Benedict Mique, best known for his work in "MOMOL Nights" and "ML."

The movie will premiere at Trinoma Friday, as part of the lineup of the Cinema Originals Film Festival. It will be available for streaming on iWant on the same day, starting 9 p.m.

This is the latest remake of "Patayin Mo sa Sindak Si Barbara," which was originally directed by Celso Ad Castillo. The first remake was released on 1995 starring Lorna Tolentino and Dawn Zulueta.
