What doctors found in Wil Dasovich's lungs

MANILA – Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Wil Dasovich gave an update about his medical condition more than a month since he started treatment to battle colon cancer.

In a new vlog post on YouTube, Dasovich said his chemotherapy seems to be effective on the cancer tumor because it has already shrunk.

Despite this, Dasovich, who wasn’t his usual cheerful self, revealed that the doctors also found something in his lungs that completely terrifies him.

“It’s possibly an infection. I was hoping to get the concrete full answer. I was just hoping that it was like black or white. That it’s this or it’s that but it’s actually, as a matter of fact, a very grey matter. They are not entirely sure what it is,” he said.

The worst part of it, Dasovich added, is that his doctors are still unable to say if it is also cancer or not.

“All I want to hear is that it’s not cancer and they could not rule that out. That kind of terrifies me, that possibility. We don’t think it is but it’s possible,” he said.

Dasovich said the news shocked him because he thought everything was going well.

“There’s a lot of time that I even forget that I have cancer because everything was going so well. Everything is going great and I get this setback,” he said.

While he was supposed to get as many chemo cycles as he can, Dasovich said he had to stop getting the treatment in the meantime.

“If it is an infection, it is very dangerous to get sick when you’re on chemo because your white blood cells, all your blood cells are really low. It’s hard for your immune system to fight an infection so we have to stop doing chemo for the time being and just wait this out and figure out what’s going on,” he said.

For now, Dasovich is scheduled to undergo more scans to find out what it really is in his lungs.

“What’s next for me is we have a meeting with a doctor that specializes in the lungs. I have to do another CT, MRI, PET scan thing just to find out whatever is going on there. In the meantime, there’s not really much you can do except for continue on living,” he said.

Dasovich is a popular Filipino-American vlogger and model, who joined "Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7" last year.

His videos of him travelling around the Philippines and other Asian countries has garnered more than 86 million views on YouTube.
