MANILA - ABS-CBN's hit primetime series ''On the Wings of Love" was named the year's "Most Innovative TV Series" at the first ever Global City Innovative College Innovation Awards for Television held Saturday.

On Instagram, production outfit Dreamscape Entertainment uploaded a photo of director Jojo Saguin, executive producer Arnel Nacario and creative manager Reggie Amigo receiving the award.

Antoinette Jadaone, the show's co-director, was not able to attend the event but acknowledged the feat on her Twitter page.

"On the Wings of Love" tells the love story of Clark (James Reid) and Leah (Nadine Lustre), a couple who was forced to marry so that the latter could continue to work in the US.

The series, however, has since shifted back in the Philippines when Leah decided to return home after finding out that her mother, who was presumed dead, faked her death to elope with her American husband.
