MANILA - Actor Jericho Rosales gave some unsolicited advice to teen stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, who are rumored to star in a remake of the hit ABS-CBN soap "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
Rosales and actress Kristine Hermosa were the original stars of the phenomenal soap, which was aired from 2000 to 2002.
"Have fun, enjoy lang. Nag-sisimula kami 27 hours, minsan 30 hours, it's purely hard work, sweat and blood. Hindi pa kami ni Kristine noon, hindi pa kami mag-on noon kumbaga, magka-away pa nga kami noon," Rosales said.
Rosales said Padilla and Bernardo should always try to be professional on set, and show their appreciation to the staff around them.
"Pero just try to be professional on the set and always love the people around you and always think of the people you inspire. Kasi nakikita namin yung effect ng show namin, so it reached Malaysia, Africa, China kung saan- saan umabot, hindi ba? But just have fun at the end of the day just enjoy," Rosales adds.
The actor said "KathNiel" (moniker for Bernardo and Padilla's love team) deserves to do the project.
Asked if it's true that he was offered to be part of the soap's remake, Rosales replied: "I'm sure si Kristine natanong din, natanong din ako for a role but I had to say no because ang decision ko ay gusto ko lang manood, gusto kong manood noong show na hindi ako involved."
Currently, Rosales is promoting his action film "Red" which is one of the 10 films competing in the 2014 Cinema Originals Film Festival happening from November 9 to 18 at Trinoma, Glorietta, Fairview Terraces and Greenhills Dolby Atmos Theater.
