MANILA, Philippines - Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz was all praises for actress and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, who will celebrate her birthday on Saturday (November 3).
In an interview with reporters, Cruz said Santos is "beyond words."
"Naku, beyond words si Ate Vi. Si Ate Vi is someone who deserves the respect na binibigay sa kanya ng tao at kapwa niya artista. Totoong nag-iisa lang si Ate Vi at napakapalad ko na makatrabaho ko ang isang Ate Vi kahit na sa panahon ngayon ay ilang beses na lang siya gumagawa ng pelikula, bumibilang ng taon," said Cruz, who worked with Santos in the 2009 blockbuster film "In My Life."
Cruz then shared the best thing he learned from Santos.
"Number one, 'yung pakikibagay at pakikisama dahil nakita ko si Ate Vi kung paano siya maging aktres pero nakita ko rin siya sa parking lot sa Canada kasama 'yung mga crew. I mean, 'yun ang pakikibagay at pakikisama," he said.
Cruz added that Santos deserves the "Star for All Seasons" tag because of her ability not only to act but also to connect with others.
"She deserves it, she owns that title, siya 'yon. Talagang walang ibang papantay sa title na 'yon," he said.
Meanwhile, Cruz gave her birthday message to Santos.
"Happy birthday Ate Vi and I miss you. Sana makatrabaho kita ulit kasi sa ganoong paraan makakasama kita ulit. Miss na miss na kita.
"I can only wish you all the best in your career, sa iyong pagiging public servant. Natutuwa ako kasi si Ate Vi ay hindi siya nag-congressman o nag-senador, siya ay mananatili sa Batangas at sinasaluduhan ko siya doon dahil kailangan siya ng taga-Batangas," he said.
