Ruffa and sweethearts Shaina and John Lloyd

MANILA, Philippines - Former beauty queen and TV host Ruffa Gutierrez extended her appreciation to sweethearts John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao for clearing up the issue that she was to blame for the couple's alleged break-up.

"I wish you both well. Maraming salamat at sinabi niyong di ako ang dahilan ng gulo niya. Yeah, I moved on. I think both of you know that. Well at least John Lloyd knows that, but I wish the both of you well," Gutierrez told Showbiz Central in an interview Sunday.

In the interview, Gutierrez said the issue started during the birthday concert of Vina Morales. She said that after the concert, she received a text from Magdayao asking her to "shut up."

"Wala talaga akong kinalaman as a matter of fact sa isyu na ito. Ang tagal-tagal na nito. It's like 2 years old... Para sa akin nag-umpisa ito sa birthday ni Vina. The entire evening walang nangyari. Ang saya, saya. Then 10 minutes later, I received a text from his phone saying 'shut up.' Ayon, medyo nag-react ako doon. Bakit kaya ako tini-text niJohn Lloyd ng shut up? Then patuloy, dumarating ang text na hindi maganda. Then I found out it was her texting. So, it didn't sit well with me. Nakapag-tweet ako na 'panahon pa ni Magsaysay yon.' I think that's one thing na natutunan ko dito sa istoryang ito na not to be so impulsive," she said.

She said that after the incident, she already understands why Magdayao reacted that way.

"After a while, naintindihan ko na din. Si Shaina noong nagte-text siya sa akin. Kung nagse-selos siya, kung anuman. Pero sana naman leave me out of it because John Lloyd already cleared my name," she added.

Meanwhile, Ruffa's brother came to her defense, saying it was Shaina who first sent a text message against Ruffa.

"Kasi that was in Republic for Vina's concert for her birthday. The next day my sister showed me the text and it was really from John Lloyd's phone and unang text talaga was 'shut up!' So nanggaling sa phone ni John Lloyd. Now if Shaina is saying na si ate ang unang nag-text well I guess she's a liar," he said.

Shaina: I'm not insecure

In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, Magdayao insisted that she is not insecure towards Gutierrez. She also refused to believe that Gutierrez directed several controversial tweets against her.

“I was expecting na she would respect us this time. Right after the party, apparently she tweeted mga controversial tweets, tapos iyon nga po ang lumalabas ngayon. Maraming nagsasabi sa akin na ako nga ang pinaparinggan niya,” she said.

“But I’m confident that I’m not insecure. Hindi ako insecure sa kanya. So I refuse to believe na ako yung pinaparinggan niya,” Magdayao added.

She said the only reason she sent Gutierrez a text message was because she was hoping the latter would understand and respect her relationship with her boyfriend, actor John Lloyd Cruz.

Magdayao also made it clear that she is not mad at Gutierrez.

“Gusto kong isipan na lahat naman tayo may kabutihan. Lahat naman tayo may pinanggagalingan. So siguro kailangan lang namin ng time. Kailangan namin ng oras to heal and hindi naman kasi dapat kami mag-away. Hindi naman kasi talaga dapat mag-away sa isang lalaki. Or kahit sinong mga babae na mag-away dahil sa isang lalaki. I don’t think that’s right,” she said.
