He acknowledged that he and Robin Padilla don't share the best of relationships at the moment.
That's why Aljur Abrenica, who is engaged to be married to Padilla's daughter, Kylie, felt the need to apologize to the action star when he appeared on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on Wednesday.
"Kung mapapanood niya man ito, kung may nagawa man ako na sa tingin ninyo ay hindi maganda or naging kasalanan ko, humihingi na po ako ng sorry sa inyo. Dahil si Kylie po, wala naman po akong balak pabayaan iyan --mahal ko po iyan," he said.
He continued by explaining: "Nakikita ko po kasi iyong saya ng tatay ko kapag nakikita niya iyong apo niya. Gusto ko rin makita rin iyon ni Kylie sa tatay niya."
Abrenica and Kylie's engagement was announced last January, three months after the latter became pregnant. Kylie gave birth this August, and she and Abrenica named their baby boy, Alas Joaquin.
Abrenica talked about marrying Kylie, but said that he and the actress are just waiting for the right "timing."
He was on the late-night talk show to promote the ongoing "Wansapanataym" special, which he topbills.
