MANILA – Matteo Guidicelli currently has his hands full but he is not complaining about his hectic schedule.
Aside from promoting his upcoming film “The Ghost Bride,” Guidicelli is also preparing for his solo concert at the same time.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News on Sunday, Guidicelli shared why he is looking forward to his show, which will be held at the KIA Theater on November 30.
“It is directed by Ruel Santiago and Louie Ocampo. It is going to be a rock show and it is going to be inspired by the '90s sound that I grew up with. It’s very different because it’s inspired by the genre that I grew up with back in high school. It is very rock and roll,” he said.
With a concert coming up, can fans now expect his girlfriend Sarah Geronimo to be performing with him on stage?
“No, she’s not going to perform at my concert. We’ll see [if she can watch], but hopefully,” he said.
Nonetheless, Guidicelli said Geronimo never fails to give him tips as they always “talk about music together.”
Following his consecutive appearances on “ASAP,” the actor said he would love to be able perform on the variety show more often.
“I want to perform more. I want to do more of my own original music, my own sound. Hopefully in the future. But I am very thankful for ‘ASAP’ that they gave me the opportunity to do that and to do this today,” he said.
As if his schedule isn’t full yet, Guidicelli revealed that he will soon launch more singles from his latest album.
“This coming Friday, we are launching a new song. It’s called ‘Huwag Ka Na Umuwi.’ It’s all original, all songs that came from days, months, years of my life,” he said.
Explaining why his album is very personal to him, the actor said: “It took a few months to make. Each and every track, naupuan talaga. We drank through it. Ilang beer ang naubos namin in writing every song. Every song is very close to my heart and every song tells the story about something that’s happened.”
Amid all this, does he still have time for love?
“I have a great team that manages my time. It is not me. I owe all of this to my handler, my road manager. They work out my schedule. You have to have a good team,” he said.
