MANILA -- Actor Luis Manzano is giving himself one-and-a-half months to finally decide if he will run in the 2016 elections.

However, the son of Batangas Governor Vilma Santos is not saying what position he is eyeing.

Talking to and other reporters on Wednesday at a press conference for the comedy "Moron5.2," Manzano reported that he and girlfriend Angel Locsin had dinner with his mother and stepfather Sen. Ralph Recto.

"Never akong pinilit ng mommy ko to run. Kahit si Tito Ralph, even my dad, never. But I'm exploring options. I'd been talking with some Batangueños, actually 'yung iba sa kanila ay may hinaing may ganyan. So in terms of me saying with finality na 'yes I'm going to run for public office and this will be the position' wala pa," Manzano said.

The host-actor admitted that Santos's achievements for the province drive him to consider a political career for himself.

"When I hear things na not so good na nangyayari, sa certain cities or ganyan ganyan, parang after what my mom has done for Batangas parang the people need hope again. I'm not sure if I'm the person to give it. I'm just saying kung ano ang umaabot sa akin, may mga daing, hinaing na umaabot sa akin. Alam ko kung ano ang ginawa ng mommy ko for Lipa, alam ko kung ano ang ginawa ng mommy ko for Batangas. So kung hindi itutuloy 'yon,
considering all the good things na ginawa ng mommy ko, eh sayang naman," he said.

If ever he will run, Manzano vowed to continue the projects of his mom in Batangas.

"That would be very weird naman kung tumakbo ako at mag-deviate ako sa mga ginawa ni mommy. Wala namang nagrereklamo sa ginawa ni mommy. If you will ask every Batangueno, there's a reason bakit siya nag-three-termer for Lipa, bakit siya nag-three-termer as a governor. That means she's doing not right but excellent," he said.

Asked if it's true that he plans to hold his wedding in Batangas as part of his political plans, Manzano said: "It's a suggestion. Pero kumbaga pwede naman sa Manila, pwede by the beach. Pero the fact that Batangas has been memorable for my family, it's a factor. Pero hindi pa namin napag-uusapan. Baka magulat lang siya sa mga ito, pero if you think about it logically it's a factor."

The actor stressed that he is even unsure if the wedding will happen before the 2016 polls.

"Kasi tingnan mo: hindi ko ma-prioritize. Hindi ko masabi kasi if I say yes, that means ready na ako for election, which I am not. So I don't know, I honestly don't know," he said.
