MANILA -- Singer Maegan Aguilar on Friday defended her father, OPM icon Freddie Aguilar, who is now being criticized for having a relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
In her official Facebook account, Maegan lambasted her father's critics and stressed that their family has no problem if the "Anak" singer is now in love with a minor.
“Mahigit na sa isang dekadang hiwalay si Tatay sa Nanay namin...6 kaming magkakapatid at sa tingin ko'y wala siyang naging pagkukulang bilang AMA sa amin. Lumaki kaming ‘independent’ and absolutely FREE FROM THE SHACKLES OF SOCIETY. None of us are LIARS or CORRUPT like most people around us," she wrote.
"And Tatay dating [name of supposed girlfriend] is no problem to any of us at all, desisyon nilang dalawa yun-walang nagpilit sa kanila na maging sila...SO ANONG PROBLEMA NIYO? Kasi INAMIN NI TATAY? anung masama dun? Anung masama kung nagpakatotoo siya? Sige nga!” she added.
Maegan believes that despite the controversy, nothing and no one can destroy his father's achievements in music industry.
"Sa mga gustong kumontra! sige humirit lang kayo dito sa wall ko...NOTHING YOU SAY WILL IMPROVE NOR RUIN OUR LIVES ANYWAY. E di wag niyong pakinggan ang ANAK- may magagawa ba yun? eh pillar na ng Pilipinas ang ANAK at ang ama kong si FREDDIE AGUILAR, wala na kayong magagawa para sirain siya...AT DAHIL LANG SA GF NIYA? HALERR!!! ANG TANGA TANGA NYO NAMAN!!!," Maegan said.
"hindi ako mase-stress noh...I LOVE CALLING OUT MORONS!!! I like saying TANGA SILA KUNG TALAGANG TANGA SILA, it's actually relaxing, you should try it,” Maegan replied to one of her followers.
In her Facebook wall, Maegan also scored her fellow artists for lambasting her father.
"it's been happening even before my father was born right? so anung problema ng iba...mas naba-bad trip ako sa post ng mga kapwa naming musikero...calling my dad SICK, A PEDOPHILE ETC ETC...parang hindi nila alam ang buhay na pinasok nila...KUNG MGA MANONG KAYO, MGA PRUDE KAYO - E KAYO YUN!!! ANG BORING NG BUHAY NIYO! KAYO ANG LOLO HINDI TATAY KO!!! BEH," she said.
In an interview with ANC's "Headstart" on Friday, the "Anak" hitmaker said he is unfazed by criticisms that he is dating a minor, as he revealed plans to marry her soon even before she turns 18.
He also said he is ready to face anything that may come because of his love for the young girl.
"They can persecute me pero tumingin kayo sa paligid niyo mas marami pa ang matitindi ang ginagawa kaysa sa akin. These are also popular people. They brag about their wealth and their wives. Ako, wala akong maraming asawa at maraming wealth na pinagyayabang. Ang asawa ko ay tatlo at pwede niyo silang tanungin kung naging masama akong asawa sa kanila. Ngayon na-in love ako sa pang-apat," he said.
