MANILA -- Apart from her big voice, singer Jona is blessed with a big heart, too. A large chunk of it is dedicated to her pets.

In an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on Monday, the singer revealed that she currently has eight dogs and 30 cats living under her roof.

And most of these she rescued from the streets.

According to Jona, her passion to rescue street cats began in 2009, when a stray kitten followed her to their home. Upon realizing that the cat had no owner, she made it a part of their family.

Recently, Jona said she flew a stray dog from Davao to her home in Manila. She also found one in Guadalupe, which she named "Lupe."

While many have been calling her the "cat lady," Jona remains hopeful that she will not grow old with nothing but cats for company.

"Sabi nga nila karamihan ng mga mahihilig mag-alaga at mag-rescue ng mga animals parang tumatanda silang dalaga o mag-isa. Pero siyempre ako po, may hopes pa rin po na magkaroon ng sariling family," she said.

But, definitely, she is looking for someone who has genuine love and care for animals.
