“I thought I’ve experienced real pain until yesterday. Nothing compares to this,” Julia said in an Instagram post where she compiled photos of her with Mr. Barretto, as well as screenshots of their text messages to each other.
“My heart hurts so much 9/29. It hurts so much,” she wrote, using her term of endearment for her grandfather.
Julia went on: “It will never ever be the same without you but I find peace in knowing that you are now free from all the pain and suffering. Rest well now, 9/29. See you again.”
Julia is part of the second-generation Barretto celebrities, along with sister Claudia, and cousins Cholo Barretto and Dominique Cojuangco.
Julia’s mother is Marjorie Barretto, who rose to fame in the ‘90s alongside sisters Claudine and Gretchen.
