MANILA — Lie Reposposa came full circle Wednesday as she returned to the singing competition which launched her successful bid to become a “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate.
Reposposa, a fan-favorite who became a batch winner of the reality show, was one of four celebrity contenders in the ongoing special edition of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
Her return to the singing competition came almost exactly a year after she candidly shared, on the same stage, her dream of joining “Pinoy Big Brother.”
Producers of Star Hunt, the ABS-CBN audition caravan which scouts potential housemates, happened to be watching Reposposa’s post-performance interview at the time, and offered her an audition date.
Reposposa’s screening did secure her a slot as a housemate in the “Otso” edition of the “Pinoy Big Brother,” where she placed 6th overall among a total of 58 hopefuls.
The past year, Reposposa shared, has been nothing short of life-changing. “Dati, nangungutang kami… Nakakaluwang-luwang na rin po. Hindi na nangungutang masyado,” she said.
On Wednesday, Reposposa tread familiar ground as she faced anew the hosts of “It’s Showtime” and judges of Tawag ng Tanghalan, this time with newfound confidence and a stronger presence.
Singing “Ang Buhay Ko,” Reposposa impressed the judges, but ultimately failed to clinch the champion title for the day. That distinction went to theater actor Gian Magdangal, who will go on to face other celebrity winners of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
