MANILA -- Shawn Mendes sure knows how to party!

Last Thursday, the 21-year-old Canadian heartthrob did just that when he took the stage of the Mall of Asia Arena for his second concert in Manila, two years after he first performed in the country in 2017.

Aside from literally lighting up the hall by having the female-dominated audience wear a bracelet that lit up and followed every beat of his song, Mendes’s mere presence was more than enough reason for many to go into a frenzy.

Gifted with overflowing charisma, Mendes had fans cheering even before he showed up onstage as all were eager to catch their first glimpse of him.

And when he finally emerged, it became a night of non-stop screaming and singing along to Mendes’ old and new hits. Some even shed tears of joy just because they were actually “breathing the same air” as Mendes right that moment.

While he had a relatively simple stage setup, Mendes made up for this by performing more than 20 songs that each of his fans knew by heart.

He started the show on the dot with “Lost in Japan” followed by “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” and five more songs that brought the party vibes.

Mendes then transferred to his awesome B-stage with a huge rose in the middle that changed colors in sync with the audience’s bracelets.

There, he interacted more with the crowd in between songs like “When You’re Ready,” “Life of the Party” and “Like to Be You,” saying how elated he was to be back in the Philippines.

The other songs which he also played at the concert were “Stitches,” “Señorita,” “Treat You Better,” “Where Were You in the Morning,” “Fallin’ All in You,” “Youth,” “If I Can’t Have You” and “Mercy.”

Towards the latter part of the show, Mendes surprised everyone when he did a cover of “Fix You,” revealing that the Coldplay anthem is one of his all-time favorites.

Of course, the night didn’t end without Mendes singing “In My Blood.”

By the time Mendes wrapped the concert, everyone was left wanting for more.
