MANILA - "The Third Party," a gay romantic comedy starring Sam Milby, Angel Locsin, and Zanjoe Marudo, has earned an opening day gross of P10 million, according to producer Star Cinema.
It is the seventh film by the ABS-CBN production outfit to reach the box office milestone on its debut following "Achy Breaky Hearts" (P10 million), "Everything About Her (P15 million), "Love Me Tomorrow" (P13 million)," "Just the 3 of Us" (P16 million), and "How To Be Yours" (P10 million).
"Barcelona: A Love Untold" (P23 million), which stars the popular onscreen tandem of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, had the highest opening day for a Star Cinema film in 2016 so far.
Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, "The Third Party" tells the story of Andi (Locsin), a woman who finds herself in an unusual situation of being a third party to the gay relationship of Christian (Marudo) and Max (Milby). More awkwardness ensues when she starts living with them under one roof after being kicked out of her apartment.
