MANILA - Derek Ramsay said his former girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban, has accepted his apology after she was dragged into the legal feud involving him and his estranged wife, Mary Christine Jolly.

In an interview with on Thursday night, Ramsay confirmed that he talked to Panganiban and her mother to apologize in relation to the concubinage complaint filed against him and the actress.

While he said he cannot do anything about Jolly's decision to file a complaint, Ramsay said he felt the need to reach out to Panganiban regarding the issue.

"I just want to reach out... I spoke to her and the mom. [Nangyari] Noong isang araw lang po (Tuesday)," he said.

"Ayaw ko nang pag-usapan 'yung sa amin ni Angel. I just want to reach out to her and her family. That's the right thing to do... Her name is being dragged and it's just right for me to apologize. I can't stop somebody from filing any case, they can go ahead and do that. Hindi ko siya mapipigilan," he added.

When asked if Panganiban accepted his apology, he said: "Yeah, yeah."

Ramsay went on to say that he is happy for Panganiban, who is now dating actor John Lloyd Cruz.

"I don't want to get involved in their relationship. I am happy that they are both happy together. For me, nadawit ang pangalan ni Angel and I have, you know, six years of my life with Angel. So I'll do anything that I can to protect her. Hindi ko siya papabayaan," he said.

On Thursday morning, Panganiban took to the photo-sharing website Instagram to express her happiness being with Cruz.
