MANILA -- The first teaser for "Shake, Rattle & Roll XV," an entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), gives a glimpse of its take on the fabled snake dwelling under the fitting rooms of a shopping mall.
In the nearly two-minute preview, Erich Gonzales and JC de Vera appear to be intimate when a large snake grabs the actor using its tail.
The episode, one of three in the film, is inspired by an '80s Manila urban legend about a monster twin of a rich scion who abducts and eats beautiful women in the secret chambers of a department store's dressing rooms.
Producers Lily and Roselle Monteverde earlier said, however, that "Ahas" will not bear similarities with true-to-life personalities and situations.
For one, the original creature in the mall story is half-male, half-snake preying on attractive girls. Gonzales will play a dual role as a normal woman with a twin snake-woman.
The teaser also gives a peek at the two other episodes of "Shake, Rattle & Roll XV," including one that has Carla Abellana and Dennis Trillo being served with Chinese dishes that are apparently cursed.
Lovi Poe and Matteo Guidicelli, meanwhile, are seen crying for help inside an airplane which then plummets before the teaser ends. Joining them in the episode are John Lapus and Kim Atienza.
"Shake, Rattle & Roll XV" will compete against seven other movies in the main section of the MMFF -- "Feng Shui," "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2," "Bonifacio," "English Only, Please," "Magnum Muslim .357," "My Big Bossing," and "Praybeyt Benjamin 2."
