John Lloyd, Sarah bag acting trophies from Enpress

MANILA – Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz bagged the acting awards at the Golden Screen Awards by the Entertainment Press Society (ENPRESS) last Saturday night for their performance in the Star Cinema movie “It Takes a Man and a Woman.”

Speaking on “ASAP” on Sunday, the singer-actress thanked the ENPRESS for recognizing their acting in their last movie together.

“On behalf of my leading man and sa lahat ng bumubuo ng ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman,’ maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng bumubuo ng ENPRESS Award. Thank you very much po,” she said.

Aside from Geronimo and Cruz’s individual accolades, the movie was also named Best Motion Picture for Musical or Comedy.

Meanwhile, the Cinemalaya film “Transit” and the Star Cinema movie “On The Job” were the other big winners in the annual awards.

“Transit” won a total of nine awards including Best Motion Picture for Drama, Best Direction, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Musical Score, Best Production Design, Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actress for Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Best Breakthrough Performance by an Actor for Marc Justin Alvarez.

“On The Job,” on the other hand, won three awards including Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role for Drama for Joel Torre, Best Original Story and Best Visual and Special Effects.
