MANILA -- One of the biggest cartoons of the nineties is coming back on ABS-CBN this month.

"Sarah, ang Munting Prinsesa," along with "Marcelino Pan Y Vino" will make a comeback on television on October 13.

Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel, A Little Princess, the Japanese anime series Princess Sarah was first shown in 1985 and was shown locally on ABS-CBN in the early 90s.

It also inspired a movie of the same title in 1995 starring Camille Prats and Angelica Panganiban as Sarah Crewe and Becky, respectively.

The series is recently gaining popularity online due to several Internet memes using scenes from the series, with some poking fun at Sarah's relationship with the other characters such as Peter and Lavinia.

Meanwhile, "Marcelino" tells the story of an orphan boy raised by monks. It was the inspiration behind the hit television series, "May Bukas Pa," which launched the career of young actor Zaijan Jaranilla.
