MANILA -- When the short film "Basurero" makes its world premiere at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, its lead star, Kapamilya actor Jericho Rosales, won't be in attendance.
"Basurero," which is directed by Fil-American filmmaker Eileen Cabiling, is competing at the festival's Wide Angle section.
According to the film's synopsis: "The lure of money is intense for a poor fisherman in the Philippines. He feels conflicted between the money and his conscience to make a living by dumping dead bodies in the sea killed by someone."
On Wednesday, Rosales explained that his flight to South Korea was cancelled due to bad weather.
"But that won’t stop me from getting excited for everyone at the Busan International Film Festival from watching good movies and moving shorts like our film in competition, 'Basurero.' Cheers to one of the best female directors I’ve worked with! Have fun and I’ll see you (and our film) in Manila!" Rosales wrote in a post on Instagram.
