She's been labeled by no less than Lea Salonga as a talent to watch out for in this newest season of "The Voice U.S."
And Kathrina Feigh, a singer born to Filipino parents, backed up Salonga's praise as she wowed the hit reality show with her cover of Jessie J's "Big White Room" on Monday's episode.
"Your voice is amazing," Jennifer Hudson, one of the coaches, told her after her performance. "The vibrato that you have, the quality that you have -- I couldn't help but turn my chair around."
Blake Shelton also turned his chair for Feigh, but the Pinay opted to join Hudson's team, admitting that she's a fan.
"WOW I AM IN AWE!!! THANK YOU [Jennifer Hudson]! I AM TRULY HUMBLED!!!!" Feigh gushed on Twitter.
Prior to the airing of her audition, Salonga put the spotlight on Feigh, describing her as a contestant "to watch out for."
"WOW I AM SPEECHLESS! I grew up listening to you--you're a LEGEND. Thank you so much for your support!" Feigh wrote in reply.
Feigh is a musical theater graduate. Both of her parents are from Manila. Before taking the "The Voice U.S." stage, she spoke of Filipinos' love for singing karaoke.
