MANILA -- Kylie Padilla has finally opened up about the gap between her father Robin Padilla and fiance Aljur Abrenica.
In an interview with Pep, Kylie admitted that Robin and Aljur don't talk to each other.
She also said her father did not meet them when they went to his house.
Kylie decided to speak up on the issue after Aljur received negative comments for admitting that Robin has yet to see their son, Alas Joaquin, who was born last August.
According to Kylie, she is also to blame for the situation.
"I think masyado nang matagal na tahimik ako. At saka hindi lang naman si Papa at si AJ (Aljur) 'yung nandito sa sitwasyon na ‘to, nandito rin ako, di ba?" she said in the Pep report.
Kylie admitted that her father wants them to get married first before speaking to Aljur.
"Gusto niya ikasal muna kami, that’s all," Kylie said.
However, they are not yet ready to get married.
"'Yung kasal kasi, I came from a broken family," she said, adding: "At alam kong kaming dalawa ni AJ, marami pa kaming kailangang ayusin."
Kylie also said she does not want to get married just to please other people.
"At ayoko lang 'yung napilit kami para lang ma-please yung mga tao or, I’m sorry, para maging okay si Papa. Pero kaya kong tiisin 'yun. Kasi alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi pa kami handa, hindi pa talaga," she said.
Despite the rift between her father and her fiance, Kylie said she has a good relationship with Robin.
"Si Papa naman, hindi naman siya tumigil, e, sa kaka-reach out. Palagi naman niya ako kinakamusta kahit hindi pa lumalabas si Alas. 'Kamusta, anak? Nahirapan ka ba? Kumakain ka ba?' Ganyan," she said.
Kylie and Aljur announced their engagement last January.
