MANILA - Going by its full trailer, comedy sequel "Moron 5.2: The Transformation" will be just as, if not doubly, riotous as the original film released in 2012.
The follow-up still stars Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford, Marvin Agustin, DJ Durano, and John Lapus, with the addition of Matteo Guidicelli as Martin Escudero's replacement.
The trailer explains the recasting: Michael (Guidicelli) accidentally burns his face while grilling barbecue, which prompts him to undergo cosmetic surgery.
"Moron 5.2" revolves around the five friends as they try to win the approval of their respective children, who appear to be embarrassed to have "stupid" men as their dads.
In order to make their kids proud, the friends form a group of superheroes they dub "Moron 5" and fight crimes in the streets of Manila.
Their most-wanted suspect, it appears, is still Beckie (Lapus), who has set out to get the extra-terrestrial orb giving powers to her rivals.
"Moron 5.2: The Transformation" was directed by Wenn Deramas and produced by Viva Films. It is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on November 5.
