They may not like being away from each other, but Rufa Mae Quinto said that she and her husband, Trev Magallanes, have decided to try out a long-distance relationship for the sake of their careers.
Quinto told "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday that she will be based in the Philippines for the meantime as she works her way back into the showbiz industry, while Magallanes will be staying in the U.S.
She said that it was Magallanes who wanted her to pursue her acting career once more, saying: "Siya talaga ang nag-push kasi kailangan namin bumalik sa parehas na career namin."
"Gusto naming maging proud ang anak namin sa aming dalawa na mayroon kaming career so he's working there and I'm working here."
Quinto added that constant communication with each other is the key to making a long-distance relationship work.
Quinto will be appearing on an upcoming episode of "Ipaglaban Mo," playing a domestic abuse victim.
This is her first project since giving birth to her first child with Magallanes last February.
She married Magallanes last November, less than a year after becoming a couple.
The two met in San Francisco, while Quinto was on vacation.
