Former Kapamilya star Sandara Park poses beside the Jollibee mascot in this photo posted by the singer on her Twitter page early this week
MANILA -- "Pambansang Krung-krung"-turned-Korean superstar Sandara Park appears to have her Filipino connection intact, as she took to Twitter early this week to share her Pinoy moment in New York City.
The 28-year-old singer, in a post on the popular micro-blogging site, shared a photo of her carrying bags of food as she posed beside the mascot of Philippine fast food chain Jollibee.
According to Park in the photo's accompanying caption, it was taken at Jollibee's branch in New York City.
"Nakapunta ako sa jollibee sa new york!!! Akala ko sa phil. ako, nag order ako in tagalog.. D nya ako naintindihan! (I went to Jollibee in New York! I thought it was in the Philippines, so I ordered my food in Tagalog. [The waiter] couldn't understand me!)," she said.
Park, who is one-fourth of the K-pop girl group 2NE1, was in New York to accompany her fellow member Lee Chae-lin or CL who had professional engagements there.
The former ABS-CBN actress' tweet about Jollibee isn't the first time she has shared her Filipino connection on Twitter, where she has over 1.1 million followers.
She has repeatedly engaged in conversation on the micro-blogging site with former co-stars on ABS-CBN, such as Luis Manzano and Pokwang, and other personalities like "It's Showtime" host Ryan Bang and singer Christian Bautista.
It was in 2004 when Park finished runner-up in the reality talent search "Star Circle Quest (SCQ)," earning her a contract with the ABS-CBN's talent management firm, Star Magic.
After a string of film and TV projects, Park, however, decided to leave for her native South Korea to pursue a showbiz career there. In 2009, she took on the name "Dara" as a member of 2NE1.
