MANILA - Television host and "Etiquette for Mistresses" star Kris Aquino is leaving the late night talk show "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," she revealed Wednesday.
Speaking at the press conference for the upcoming film, the 44-year-old Aquino said this is because of recent issues regarding her health.
The actress was hospitalized last August 25 after a severe vascular headache caused her blood pressure to shoot up. According to her, she could have had a stroke.
"Babalik po ako sa 'Aquino & Abunda' on Monday for my final week," she told reporters. "Because alam niyo the health issues I went through -- I cannot shoot a movie and do two daily shows."
Aquino said co-host and friend Boy Abunda will take the reins following her departure from the show.
"Rightfully, the show should be 'Boy Abunda Tonight' kasi three months na halos na siya mag-isa. And I'm so happy for him and I'm just also happy that next week, I'm being given the chance to close it properly," she said.
On her Instagram account shortly after her announcement, Aquino posted a photo of her with Abunda. It had the caption: "I missed him."
