On the face of it, "Exes Baggage" appears to be a fairly broad movie about two heartbroken souls who find solace in one another.
But that description ignores the fact that it stars Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino, who, other than being an ex-couple in real life, are exceptionally good at delivering both their characters' playful banter and tear-jerking lines.
One can get a sense of that fan-favorite chemistry in the movie's first full trailer, released Wednesday, charting their journey from randomly meeting at a bar one night to them falling out of love thanks to the emotional "baggage" that they carry.
The clip is designed to make one cry in the sense that Pia (Panganiban) and Nix's (Aquino) romantic lines are juxtaposed with the painful opposite of just what they're saying.
Directed by Dan Villegas ("Changing Partners," "The Breakup Playlist"), "Exes Baggage" will hit cinemas on September 26.
It is the first movie to be produced by Black Sheep, one of the newly introduced film outfits under ABS-CBN Films.
