MANILA -- Prized GMA-7 star Marian Rivera was seen Wednesday night inside the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.
The 29-year-old actress visited the headquarters of ABS-CBN's film arm, Star Cinema, along with "Kung Fu Divas" co-star Ai Ai delas Alas, to discuss the upcoming film's promotional campaign.
Rivera and delas Alas are teaming up for the first time in the Onat Diaz-directed action-comedy flick, which is a co-production among both actresses, Star Cinema, Reality Entertainment, and The O&Co. Picture Factory Inc.
On micro-blogging site Twitter, Star Cinema PR executive Roxy Liquigan as well as film director Erik Matti shared a series of photos showing Rivera and delas Alas in the meeting.
Delas Alas, on image-sharing service Instagram, likewise expressed excitement about the nearing premiere of "Kung Fu Divas," as she shared a first look at the film's final poster.
Although identified with ABS-CBN's rival network GMA-7, Rivera has been vocal of her hopes to collaborate with Star Cinema, triggering speculations early this year of a possible transfer to the Kapamilya network.
The "MariMar" star, however, went on to renew her contract as a GMA-7 talent in August.
Rivera's starring role in "Kung Fu Divas" is not the first time contract artists from other networks topbilled an ABS-CBN-backed film project.
The actress' long-time boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes, has starred in two Star Cinema productions, and is currently at work on a third where he will co-star with Kapamilya talent Bea Alonzo.
