It may be a while before people get to see Paulo Avelino in action as General Gregorio del Pilar in the much-anticipated "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral."
But at least for now, people have a glimpse of what's to come.
On Friday, TBA Studios released online the first teaser for the movie topbilled by the "The Promise of Forever" star. It has the actor front and center in his full wartime garb, pensive as he looks over a cliff.
A voice-over narrates: "Tinanghal kang pinakamatapang, makabayan at tampok sa mga bayaning kilala. Ngunit kung nais mong mahalin kita, hayaan mong mahalin ko ang isang lalaking mayayakap ko.
"Hindi isang bayaning nasa ibabaw ng mga ulap. Gusto kong sumandal sa bisig ng isang lalaking alam ang kanyang hangganan pagka't natuloy na niya ang tungkulin niya sa bayan."
It ends with with the hashtag teasing the release of the film for next year. The movie is still currently in production.
The teaser comes exactly two years after "Heneral Luna," the most successful historical film in the country's box-office history, was first released in cinemas.
It was the Philippines' official entry for foreign language film in the Academy Awards in 2016, but failed to receive a nod. Like "Heneral Luna," "Goyo" will be directed and written by Jerrold Tarrog.
