MANILA - Television host Edu Manzano claims he is getting death threats from those linking him to the suspension of Optical Media Board (OMB) Chairman Ronnie Ricketts.
On Monday, Manzano took to social media site Twitter to share a photo of a text conversation he had with the alleged "Ricketts cronies."
The accompanying caption read: "So, how many of you received a DEATH THREAT today? Check mine out, clearly written by AMATEURS and IDIOTS."
Last week, the Office of the Ombudsman suspended Ricketts and four others for neglect of duty in connection with the post-raid operations conducted against Sky High Marketing Corporation in Quiapo on 2010.
Manzano explained in a series of posts that he had no part in the Ombudsman's decision, which also ordered the filing of criminal charges against Ricketts for graft and corruption.
His post read: "To all the Ricketts cronies that are harassing me: WALA AKONG KINALAMAN SA SUSPENSION NG BOSS NINYO. Since 2009, I have not had..anything to do with the OMB. In the first place, EXPIRED na ang appointment ng boss ninyo, at HOLDOVER capacity na lang siya. Naghihintay na lang ng kapalit, sumabit pa. Bakit ba ako ang pinagiinitan ninyo? His time was done anyway."
In 2004, Manzano served as the chairman of the Optical Media Board. Ricketts took over the OMB 5 years later.
