| Tony Award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga
MANILA, Philippines – Tony Award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga was named one of the judges in the 60th Miss Universe Pageant to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In a press statement, US network NBC, Donald Trump and Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart announced that Salonga, together with 6 others, will judge the pageant.
Joining Salonga will be racing driver Helios Castroneves, journalist Connie Chung, supermodel Isabeli Fontana , actresses Vivica Fox and Adrienne Maloof, and Miss Universe 2003 Amelia Vega.
Andy Cohen and Natalie Morales will be hosting the event.
Joining them in the hosting duties will be Jeannie Mai and Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessy.
The live coverage of the Miss Universe beauty pageant will be shown on ABS-CBN on September 13.
An exclusive double prime-time telecast of the pageant will also be aired on the Velvet Channel at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
This year’s pageant marks the first time fans are allowed to vote for their favorite contestant through an online poll.
The overall winner of the online voting will have an automatic slot in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant’s semi-finals.
