MANILA — “Hello, Love, Goodbye” stars and new friends Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards couldn’t help but cringe as they engaged in a “compliment battle,” at certain points even sinking in their seats from awkwardness.
The task had the two reading tweets from fans about each other — a simple enough challenge, but not when the words become hyperbolic and overly flattering.
The “battle,” it seemed, had more to do with Bernardo and Richards’ eager delivery of the lines.
“So weird! Nagbubuhat tayo ng sarili nating bangko!” Bernardo said, as Richards read a tweet from her fan with enthusiasm.
“Nahihiya na ako! Sobrang feeling!” she added.
“Nakaka-cringe!” Richards meanwhile said, as he covered his face after a comment mentioning his “young” and “handsome” new look.
The compliment battle is the latest in a series of “challenges” that show Bernardo and Richards’ newfound friendship off-screen, a result of their fresh tandem via the record-breaking “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
