MANILA – The top four contestants of ''The Voice Kids 2'' gave stellar performances on the first night of the grand finals of the singing contest.
For the first day, the contestants sang with the judges and host of ''Your Face Sounds Familiar.'' Each of the contestants also sang upbeat songs during their solo performances.
Reynan Dal-Anay, a boy from the Tigwahanon Manobo tribe in Bukidnon, opened the show with his ''Babalik Ka Rin'' duet with Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.
Both Dal-Anay's coach Lea Salonga and Sarah Geronimo described the performance as ''perfect.''
For his solo, Dal-Anay sang Eraserheads' ''Toyang.''
ESANG DE TORRES
Tondo native Esang de Torres gave what Geronimo called a ''refreshing'' performance with her duet with Billy Crawford. The two sang Bruno Mars' ''Count On Me.''
De Torres took on ABBA's ''Dancing Queen'' for her solo performance.
Sassa Dagdag sang ''Ikaw'' with Megastar Sharon Cuneta. For her solo, she sang Nicki Minaj's ''Starships.''
Elha Mae Nympha belted out ''Narito'' with powerhouse singer Jed Madela. Meanwhile, she brought the house down when she effortlessly hit the whistle note of Mariah Carey's ''Emotion,'' with all the coaches on their feet during the performance.
