MANILA, Philippines – The surgery of singer and actress Zsa Zsa Padilla to remove the tumor in her kidney was a success, according to her daughters Zia and Nicole Quizon.
On Tuesday, Zia said the doctors told them that the cancer has not spread to Padilla’s other organs.
“Surgery was a success! As far as the doctors could tell it has not spread anywhere else. Thank you everyone for your prayers and support,” she said.

Nicole, meantime, told ABS-CBN News that the surgery lasted for more than five hours but her mom was already in the recovery room at around 3:30 a.m.
“It’s good news naman all around. They said the surgery was successful. It took them five and a half hours. As of mga 3:30 a.m. nasa recovery na yung mom ko,” she said.
Following Padilla’s operation, Nicole said her mom, together with Zia and their other sister Karylle, will be staying in the United States for one more week before returning to Manila.
Nicole said she will also be going back to Australia to fix her U.S. visa so she could accompany her mom on her next medical check-up.
“At this time, I just can’t [go to the U.S.] at the moment. Wala pa akong U.S. visa but as soon as makabalik akong Australia, I’m fixing everything so that in her next check up puwede na akong sumama,” she said.
Meanwhile, Padilla’s friends and family celebrated a Mass here in Manila for her speedy recovery.
Officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag, the Quizon family gathered together at the Dolphy Theater on Tuesday to pray for the singer-actress.
