MANILA, Philippines -- Veteran singer-songwriter Freddie Aguilar was robbed of nearly P500,000 in his own home in Quezon City, which police believe was an inside job.
Aguilar said he couldn't believe what happened, especially since the money was stashed inside a vault in his bedroom at his residence in North Fairview, Quezon City.
The folk singer said an estimated $12,000 or roughly P500,000 of his savings was kept in the vault.
He said he found out that he was robbed on Sunday.
The singer said he has already talked with his children as well as his househelp, especially since the thief apparently knew the combination to the vault.
He said he has already informed authorities about the robbery and that the people in his house have been finger-printed.
According to Supt. Virgilio Fabian, chief of the Quezon City Police Department Station 5, they believe it was an inside job since there were no signs of forcible entry.
Aguilar also appealed for possible witnessed to come out and help them in the case. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
