MANILA, Philippines - One of the hottest comediennes and TV hosts in the country, Pokwang, turned 40 today.

Now that she's able to share her blessings, Pokwang (Marietta Subong in real life) reached out to the needy children of Bantay Bata.

In a message posted on her Twitter page, Pokwang said she's really happy to spend time with the kids.

"Nakakatuwa at sobrang happy ang birthday ko sa dami ng bumabati!! Thank you sa inyong lahat!," Pokwang said.

Her birthday charity event was attended by her showbiz friend, Chokoleit, and presidential sister, actress-host Kris Aquino.

Also present at the event was Bantay Bata Program Director Tina Monzon-Palma.

Pokwang is also a mother to her only daughter Riemae.

In a recent interview, Pokwang said she's helping Bantay Bata in memory of her eldest son who died of brain tumor.

The comedienne got her break in show business when she co-hosted the defunct hit TV noontime show "Wowowee," which was replaced by "Pilipinas Win na Win."

Currently, Pokwang is co-hosting "Pilipinas Win na Win" with Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino as the main hosts.
