MANILA — “Just A Stranger,” which marks Anne Curtis’ return to her sexy drama roots on the big screen, reached a box-office milestone Monday as it continued to attract moviegoers over the weekend.
The Jason Paul Laxamana film, which sees Curtis paired with Marco Gumabao for the first time, has already earned P52 million in domestic gross as of Sunday, its fifth day in cinemas.
The figure was announced Monday by producer Viva Films.
“Flex ko lang si Mae,” Curtis wrote on Instagram, referring to her character. “She’s super happy! Thank you for choosing to watch #JustAStranger over the weekend.”
“To those who haven’t seen it yet, nuod na para maramdam ang saya, sarap, at sakit ng the pagmamahalan ni Mae at JekJek. Ay sorry, Jericho pala,” she said, pertaining to the character of Gumabao.
“Just A Stranger” centers on the steamy affair between a married woman, Mae (Curtis), and a 19-year-old student, Jericho (Gumabao), who also happens to be in a relationship.
The film will also be screened in select overseas locations.
