MANILA, Philippines - Hunk actor Sam Milby shared his excitement now that he's able to return to his first love -- singing.
In an interview with ABS-CBN's weekly entertainment show "The Buzz," Milby shared his newest television project "Idol," with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
Dubbed as the Acoustic Heartthrob, Milby said that he's happy to have the chance to do one of his passions, which is to sing. Milby said that he had been very busy doing a lot of acting projects.
"Actually, I'm very, very excited because everyone knows na first love ko ay singing pero puro acting lang ako ngayon. So what's great kasi in the show ay sabay (singing and (acting)," Milby said.
Milby also added that it feels great working with Geronimo, whom he admires for being talented, a good person and a dedicated singer-actress.
"Sobrang fun sa set, actually nahihiya pa ako sa kanya, hindi ko alam. So much fun to work with. Minsan sa isang eksena (tawa ng tawa) lang kami," Milby said.
In the interview, Milby also cleared speculations saying that "Idol" is the Filipino version of hit US musical series "Glee." Milby stressed that "Idol" is really different from the US show in terms of story but might have the same concept in terms of production.
"A lot of people will compare it to Glee but it's obviously completely different pero the same concept I guess, prod numbers I think about at least three songs per episode," Milby said.
Directed by Ruel Bayani and Jojo Saguin, "Idol' also stars PGT grand winner Jovit Baldivino, Coco Martin, Agot Isidro and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
"Idol" the first "kanta-serye" of ABS-CBN will premiere soon.
